Fast beginners/Slow intermediate tapdancers this is your chance to get those taps in line.

Bril Barrett’s M.A.D.D. Rhythms along with Detroit Tap Repertory, and Rod Ferrone, will be performing at the 32nd Annual Detroit Jazz Festival. Accompanied by the Scott Gwinnell Trio, we will be at the KidBop Stage (right at the entrance) 4pm Saturday and Sunday (9/3 & 9/4) and 3:30pm Monday. In the words of Skeeto Valdez: Chamone!!!

Children’s Pavilion: (Hosted by The Institute of Positive Education and Betty Shabazz International Charter School) Youth of all ages can enjoy games, music, dance, storytelling, theater, arts, drum and crafts all day long! Other highlights include performance by M.A.D.D Rhythms; a children’s drum workshop presented by Seneke West African Percussion Ensemble, as well as a fashion show with designs by Afro-Funk and hair by Amazon-where culture meets fashion. Social-service agencies will be on hand in the pavilion to offer best practices and resources for family, parenting, educational, and children’s issues. (Children are encouraged to bring their drums).
